Music Discovery #28 of 2012

A nice eclectic mix of music this week, and it’s really piling up since these posts are coming less frequently. I typically don’t pay much mind to videos but I like the one for Rush Midnight, and of course the song is great.

There are a couple other tracks I had to post YouTube videos for, as I couldn’t find other shareable versions in my initial searching. Remember, those won’t get picked up by the exfm player, so be sure to check those out manually.

Music Discovery #11 of 2012

This week saw the passing of Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch (MCA), at the age of 48. Over the last number of days there have been many wonderfully things said about the man, the Boys, and their influence on my generation… thoughts and stories more eloquent and coherent than I could ever say or share. It’s just amazing to see the impact he/they had, and sad to hear of his passing at a relatively young age.

I could share some of my favorite Beastie Boys songs below, but I just don’t even know where to start as there are so many, and you’ve all heard them before I am sure. You can’t go wrong with Paul’s Boutique and Ill Communication (I’ve practically had them on a loop since Friday) and if you’ve somehow never given these albums a listen, do yourself a favor and check them out.
